Class 10 English Chapter 2-Nelson Mandela:Long Walk to Freedom Solution

Chapter 2 of “Nelson Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom” covers Mandela’s early life, including his childhood and education. Mandela was born into the Madiba clan in the village of Mvezo, in the Transkei region of South Africa. His father was a chief, and Mandela was groomed to become a leader himself.

Mandela’s education began at a local Methodist school, where he was given the name “Nelson” by his teacher. This was a common practice at the time, as black South Africans were often given English names by their white teachers. Mandela excelled in school and went on to attend college in Johannesburg, where he studied law.

During his time in college, Mandela became involved in the African National Congress (ANC), a political party that sought to end apartheid in South Africa. Mandela quickly rose through the ranks of the party and became one of its most prominent leaders.
